yes skool wasn't exactly fun today. even b4 second hr sum one had to go and piss me off (god i hate when that happens) I'm tired of ppl pputting me down like im not an equal!! So im short and quiet and shy mostly but thats becuz i haven't found anyone that i like trust completely. no one knows what goes on in my head or what i think of. or what i have or haven't done and to judge me like that is bull and u should all get a brain becuz everyone has done it in one way or another and im sick of It!!! Be nice, don't put ppl down, dont judge, dont hate!!( i sound like a hippy) im just so mad that that person was like how do u know u ave never even been to one when ve been to 3 u dont even know anything about me cuz i dont trust u cuz u piss me off all the time. b4 i smash a wall ill change the subject.

Speaking of walls when i came home i got a hammer, googles and garbage bags and started taking apart moms bath room. but i learned i couldnt bang reely hard becuz theres only a little insalation and then the outside of my house. but it was fun while it lasted but didnt relieve my stress. im soo0o0o mad.

o also at skool we had an assembly at the end of the day and mrs.edsall got covered in sundae stuff it was awesome!the drumline was there and colorguard and winterguard. i was reely mad cuz there was a guy in winterguard and colorguard and hannah and casey were like ha ha hes soo gay and the were makin fun of him. plus everyone was being reely disrespectful and talking through the whole thing. ppl dont appreciate how hard they work.

tommorow i have confirmation then im going to toleda and spending the night for girl scouts with julia! i have a lot of hw but i just feel like talkin but i have no one to talk to. i hope i meet ppl from white lake cuz im a loner i dont have no one to hang out with. ellens leevin and urg no one knows y i changed lunch tables. part of y i hate that ellens going to milford has to do with lunch tables.( ya i kno confusin)

I had a very boring day but hey whats new!!

IN 2 days its been officially one month since i've been grounded so I only have one month left!

Michigan’s Hate Crime Law

“We need special policies for hate crimes because they have a special impact on the victims and the victims community,” once said by Greg Herek, a psychologist (Mjoseth). At the moment, Michigan’s hate crime law excludes sexual orientation (“Hate Crimes Fact Sheet”). In fact, Michigan is still using the 1969 hate crime law (Robinson). Where as today, the definition of a hate crime is a crime committed by an offender because of the victim’s race, ethnic background, religion, or sexual orientation (“Hate crime”). If the definition of a hate crime includes sexual orientation, what is taking so long for homosexuals to be added as a protected group in Michigan’s hate crime law? Some say it is not the biggest priority right now. What about protecting a citizen is not a priority? Everyone is born with the right of equality. Each and every person should be treated equally, as the core democratic value of equality states. Why should homosexuals be denied protection? When are homosexuals going to be treated as equals? How long does it take for the state of Michigan to update there hate crime law, protect those hundreds of victims that have recently been abused or traumatized, and prosecute those bias offenders? Although, some believe sexual orientation should not be added to the Michigan hate crime law, crimes against homosexuals should be punished.

Some believe sexual orientation should not be added to Michigan’s Hate Crime Law. To start, Michigan has many different beliefs on the meanings of “sexual orientation” and “fundamental beliefs”. There has not been a compromise to have an agreement over one main idea for both terms. Meanwhile, some believe adding sexual orientation as a protected class grants special rights to gays (Robinson). In fact, all forms of violent crime are hatred towards others. Why add more punishment if a victim is in a protected group? Similarly, hate crimes are individual acts; they do not represent the views of a particular group (Minch). Lastly, Bush opposes the extension of gay rights. Bush, being our country’s representative speaks for a large portion of our nation (Robinson). In conclusion, a portion of Michigan’s population does not want sexual orientation added to Michigan’s hate crime law.

On the other hand, sexual orientation should be added to the Michigan hate crime law because acts of this kind are rapidly increasing. First of all, crimes against gays and lesbians are the fastest growing hate crime in the United States (Roleff 80). Acceptance of gays has increased, even though hate crimes are still well spread (McCollum 15). Not to mention, a total of 41% of gay, lesbian and bisexual adults reported being a hate crime victim after the age of 16(Robinson).Meanwhile, at least 40% of Michigan’s crimes take place at or around gay parades and other places where suspects sought out gays (Durbin).Equally as important, sexual orientation is the third largest category of committed hate crimes, following race, then religion (Robinson). In conclusion, due to the rising number of hate crimes, sexual orientation should be added to the Michigan’s hate crime law.

Also, without adding sexual orientation as a protected group in the Michigan hate crime law, it is limiting equality of Michigan citizens. First, the definition of equality states, the quality and state of being equal (“equality”).Secondly, the FBI doesn’t even have to investigate hate crimes based on sexual orientation, unlike any other protected group (LAMBDA organization). Equally important, 49% of police will not even listen to gay hate crime complaints (Palmer and Hay). Similarly, in order to prosecute hate crimes based on sexual orientation, in other states, the victim must be exercising a federally protected activity, for example, serving jury duty or mailing a letter at a post office (LAMBDA organization). As a result, adding gays to the Michigan’s hate crime law would help increase equality in Michigan.

Again, adding sexual orientation to the Michigan hate crime law will help protect victims of hate crimes based on sexual orientation. Firstly, victims of hate crimes already have higher levels of psychological distress, including post-traumatic stress disorder, depression and anger, than other crime victims (Mjoseth). Likewise, hate crimes against gays tend to be more severe than any other minority group (Robinson). Similarly, hate crime victims need an average of five years to get over the emotional distress, rather than non bias crime victims, who take about an average of two years (Mjoseth).Moreover, studies have shown hate crimes have psychological effects both on victims’ and communities, than any other type of crime. Furthermore, hate crimes send a message that certain groups are not welcome and are unsafe in a particular community(“Hate Crime and Hate Crime Prevention Act: HCPA”). As we have seen, adding sexual orientation to the Michigan hate crime law would help improve the victim’s health and communities’ morale.

Although, some people do not believe homosexuals should be added to the Michigan hate crime law, crimes against homosexuals should be punished. Regarding hate crimes, a young college student went out to have a drink at a local bar, he confided in two men that he was gay. Later, those two men lured the young man outside. Afterward, both men stripped and brutally beet that boy because he was gay. Soon after beating the young man they tied him to a fence and left him out to die. Un-clothed, brutally beaten and tied to a fence in sub-zero weather, the young man was found a day later as by a bicyclist, who was riding by and mistaken the male, college student as a scare crow. That boy died six days later in intensive care, the male victim’s name was Mathew Shepard. Mathew Shepard’s story is a hate crime that has touched the nation, although his case was a vicious crime, crimes like this do go on in the world today. Just hearing the cruel reality that bias feelings or thoughts have resulted in such violence makes you think if hate continues where society is going to end up? Similarly, hate crimes are growing, especially those based on sexual orientation, so why are citizens of Michigan going to have to wait to get justice? By adding sexual orientation as a protected group, in the Michigan hate crime law, will help advance the state of Michigan. Now, everyone band together and stop a world of hate.

sci...i failed my quiz

in band....... we listened to our playing and stuff and had pizza. i talked to brittney.we had a lot to talk about becuz we're going through the same thing "friends wise" and i can't wait till i have aim back so i can actually talk to ppl.

yesterday was festval and it was a big waste of my time! in the coat room kailtin was sayin mean things about rachel and then kaitlin pulled out "THE NOTE" which was realling creepy cuz right when autumns like kaitlin better not have brought the note kailtlin pulls it out and gives it to chris. apparently thats a bad idea even tho i have no clue what the note says and frankly dont care. so ya i moved to the other side of the room and sat by myself for awhile cuz i didnt want to get into the middle of everything. ya sooo we practiced. then went on stage and we didnt do as well as we would have like but still pretty good for us a few occasional wrong notes but i mean ur sooo nervous and the light his my music at the wrong angle soo it looked like a bunch of glitter. then we went to sight reading and that was a whole different story i had to tell kid to do everything like sit up im not ur mom god. and we played i think we did pretty good but apperently the judge didn't b/c ppl weren't participating we all know who they are which sux. and then we went to go wait for our ratings for an HOUR!!and turns out that my mom didn't bring my clothes cuz they took the other car which sucked.so i had to wear that green thing 4 ever soo we went to go sit by everybody else and they were makin fun of rachel and what not but we were all sitting at a table an somebody says hi chrisand we all look its NETCHEY!!!!!! then like everybody ran out the door into the parking lot 'cept me im not that mean. ya then we got back to the table and waited and talked somemore. HITLER MUSTACHE. lol. ya and i wanted to steal muirs cumberbunds but i didnt. and sum girls cape. lol. then finally our ratings were posted 2,2,3,3,overall 2. in band terms that sux because both the other bands got straight 1's. so then amazingly my parents let me go 2 lu & rubys with autumn and erika with there parents. it was good a quitter dinner than my usual,but good.

then i et home and for some odd reason im sad. so i watched the little engine that could. serously. and had a huge headache then went to bed.

this morning i got up at 6:40!!!! for church.urg 8 oclock mass is too early. but after that we went to leos but it wasn't very good and the service was horrible.

i did my homework and then went to sears w/ my dad but all we got was a new tool chest or summin. we looked at ipods but he said no. which was ok w/ me b'/c

Festival day i have tobe at skool in an hour and 45 mins thats plenty of time. yes its festival day and brit wont be there and dereks gunna ruin it for us al. i have to remind him to do everything from sitting up straight to what music we're playing. he thinks he knows every single note to all the songs im like well the judges think u dont so at least turn ur page. i hope we do well. at least we're gunna do better then that pre-festival winter concert. my mo is going this yr!! but my dad and nick went to my dads work or summin like that i dont think there goin.

so i came home watched tv and was about to take a nap cuz i had a headache when dad comes home and i hear screaming so i turn down the tv and dont say a word cuz i was afraid i was gunna get yelled at for something or another so i waited till dad and nick left for boyscouts i believe except when i went to go order pizza cuz moms not home and we dont even have peanut butter and i think only one total peice of bread m screwed. well i was looking for the money when i figured one of them took it so i called mom and shes like well ur screwed in simple terms i like thanx i dont know dads cell so ya i am im soo0o0o pissed they always yell at me for doing something but i dont take other peoples money or yell at them for being overweight i know i am and i relized how much total weight ive gaied at oakvalley and its sad they sad part is i grew like 3 total inches an inch a year maybe buy the time i get married i wont have to cut the back of my jeans. o and this girl stepped on my pants and ripped the bottom so know i have torippe of the rest and make them all frayed god sometimes u like life and sometimes you don't. as of today i am not looking forward to n and s carolina but who'll know maybe nick will maracuiously grow a brain and shut his mouth and stop picking his nose and my grandmas knees don;t get arthritis then maybe life will be a smidge better.

i did nothing all weekend. i'm going literally insane i have not left this house in like 3 weeks. i even miss riding in a car. omg ithe only time i rode in a car was on friday for girlscouts. im gunna die. this is sad. im goin on vacation and my grandmas coming with us. but since im grounded i will be doing all the work on this "vacation". if you call being stuck in a car with your brother who doesn't shower and picks his nose is torture enough i dont need a whole 'nother month of being grounded. ive been dreaming of the day wen i get ungrounded. thats sad. i think it will be a belated birthday party for myself good idea huh?
lol anything except for at my house maybe the state will give me a drivers license and a car for going thru this i meen i know theres a whole lot worse that cood happen and does to other ppl but it sux. lets see hitch will be out of theaters by then. like none of my friends like to rollerblade. not that im good at it but it fun. theres always the mall. and bowling. and the movies. anything!!!! i wish i cood drive and just go sit in a middle of a field and star at the stars or dance in the rain and just think.ive been cut off from civilization. no aim. turns out im prolly not getting a cel;l anymore becuz of my mishap. ppl dont trie hidig in ur aunts car all the way to her house when ur parents don't know. im telling in advance its NOT A GOOD IDEA!!!!!! got to go i have soo much to say but nicks picking his nose and i HAVE to get out of here. plus my mom went to this thing where she premakes all these meals and then cooks them turns out i hate them all so ill just not eat breakfast is the only meal i enjoy now because we bread and jelly. i guess its diet time then theres nothing ill eat. besides ive been to resorting food for awhile now i just need a wake up call i want to walk in a room and be not standing out becuz im big besides if i were taller i wouldn't have this problem. but i wasnt delt that card so ya gotta work what ya got. better go i dunno laundry. i know that sounds pathetic but if i ever want to get out of thgis "house" i need to suck up. every time i do sum lttle thing they threaten another week while nick goes to the trains show and everyhing ive never reely wanted to go to meijers till now. well i have a fever and feel like crap i better go dont be surprised if im not at skool then assume im sick

im soo prou i have 4 A's and 2 A-'s im happy and doing better than nick. i finished my hw last night surprisingly so i could watch JAck and Bobby it stinx now i moved my tv and instead of 7 channelsi only get 2 and a half. o i have to go down to the basement if i wanna watch tv it stinx. yes im major major majorly busy the next 3 weeks. I have drums on mondays reeding 4 jennie on tues then go back up to OVMS to the play practice till 5 than i have play practice till 5 every day of the week. im the lights person woot. i just wanna help out ya know. do summin. i dint know that much summin for only 2 shows total. then i have girlscouts tommorow. band frestival next saturday. confirmation the saturday after that. then SPRING BREAK. we're going to North and South Carolina but we're drivin.:(

im soo sad. i can't do anything. im a mess. its all going down hill. i have decided ounce i get ungrounded im gunna throw myself a bash day i was thing laser tag, movies, rollerblading, bowling, or all of them im going insane. i can't talk to anyone. me and mom and dad can't even talk with out bringing up my big mistake which ends in me slamming my door. last night i moved my tv and started to re-clean my room. i haven't gpne anywhere in a week but school. i don't even think i road in a car only for the band concert. im dying. this morning i justr stayed there in my bed for a couple of hours becuz i didn't want to get up. my grades have improved but not my social life. im an altimate loner now. ive been counting down the days its 51 days, 19 hours, 36 minutes and 19 seconds until April 19, 2005. see i sware im messed up in the head. i can't leave my room without getting something takin away. i think im gunna go mope in my room some more or just lay in my bed trying to turn back time. i can't even go to the library. also, my mom sai i probably couldn't work back stage on the play. i tried to convince her it was comunity service but i didnt do a good job. the only thing to look forward is to school unfortunatley.
